Chabot 2016

Lake Chabot Regional Park was established in the 1960s after the reservoir had been closed to recreational use for 91 years. Today, the lake remains as an emergency water supply and is open to fishers and boaters, as it is filled with trout, catfish, bass, crappie, and other fish.

With eucalyptus forests, grassy meadows, lakeside paths, and hill top vistas, Lake Chabot offers over 20 miles of hiking trails, which connect to the additional 70 miles of trails in adjoining Anthony Chabot Regional Park making it a spectacular place to run and also very accessible.

This is one of our typically faster races with less elevation and some paved sections. The course is designed for those who are looking to PR and those who are less competitive and/or just embarking on trail racing.

Parking is $5 at Lake Chabot.

Time Limit: There is an 8.5 hour time limit for the 50K race.

Parking: Parking at Lake Chabot Regional Park is free for all participants who arrive prior to the lots being full. There is additional free parking along the road just outside of the park. Carpooling is always strongly encouraged.

Race Capacity: The Chabot Trail Run will have a capacity of 500 runners, across all distances.

ITR Refund Policy:
Entry fees to our trail runs are non-refundable. With advanced notice, we are happy to transfer part of your entry fee (75% up to two weeks of the event, 50% from 2 weeks up to 72 hours of the event) to a future ITR event. Only registered runners can participate, and you cannot exchange your entry with another runner.

Awards & Shirts


Awards

Overall winners of each race distance will receive a medal, a custom glass Stein and an item from the Inside Trail Racing schwag bag.

All ultra-marathon distance finishers will receive a custom printed Pint Glass with the race logo.

All other finishers will receive a custom medal with the race logo.

The Dead Last Finisher (DLF) in each even will receive a custom award.

Age-group medals (3 deep) will be awarded in the following categories, for both males and females:
     ● 19 and under

     ● 30 – 39
     ● 40 – 49
     ● 50 – 59
     ● 60 – 69
     ● 70 and over


 

Shirts

All registered runners will receive a Greenlayer Sports Evolution technical fabric shirt. Your favorite training tee has been updated for the new season. The Greenlayer logo is featured in a color popping contrast color on the left sleeve.

Aid Stations

At Inside Trail Racing aid stations it’s like an all you can eat buffet, but this is a race, so don’t linger too long. Expect to find variety at all of our aid stations, including a plethora of Clif Shot Gels, Clif Bars, and Gu Chomps as well as sweet and salty offerings like trail mix, pretzels, potato chips, Oreo cookies, Pop Tarts, boiled potatoes with salt, regular soda (Coke or Pepsi), Mountain Dew, Ginger Ale, water, Tailwind Endurance Fuel, PB&J finger sandwiches, M&M’s, Mike & Ike’s, salt tablets… you get the idea. There will also be general first aid items but no anti-inflammatory medicine. As distances between aid station vary, we strongly encourage all runners to carry at least one 20oz bottle during their run.
