Update on Toro Loco and the Soberanes Fire

Unfortunately, we have recently received confirmation by Toro Park officials that the area will remain closed until August 31. Due to this, we have rescheduled this year’s Toro Loco Trail Run to October 16, 2016.

We truly apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment this may have caused. All currently registered participants will automatically be transferred to the event on the new date. If you are unable to run with us on the new date, please contact us at tim@insidetrail.com to let us know you would like a refund. Note that we can only refund the registration fee; the processing fee is charged by Ultrasignup and we cannot issue any credit for that amount.

The hills are brutal but so rewarding, and the T-shirts and medals are sweet, so we hope to see you at the Toro Loco race in October! If nothing else, the weather should be a bit cooler :)

Info

Toro LocoToro County Park is located six miles from downtown Salinas, and 13 miles from the Monterey Peninsula. First open to the public in 1971, the park’s 4,756 acres have been a haven for thousands of visitors, as it is provides sharp climbs unlike most of the accessible Northern California hiking terrain. It is also home to many types of wildlife including deer, coyote, and a rare mountain lion or golden eagle. Toro’s pastoral setting makes it the ideal place for a trail run. This is a unique race and is one of our favorite courses because of the amazing trails and splendid views.
